Phones at Burning Man?

I was curious what the status of connectivity was at the annual Burning Man event these days, which has long been too elitist for me to care about. This was in the context of wondering whether they were still operating that 2G GSM pirate cell network that was going on from around 2010 to 2013 (from what I can tell).

No, instead, it appears that you can just bring a Verizon 4G LTE hotspot these days, and there are free Wi-Fi hotspots everywhere, and the Burners are just sick of the distractions, as well they should be. But at least nobody’s operating any local pulsed TDMA GSM cell towers like they were 10 years ago, to mess up anyone’s chakras.
